About our Founder

Morven Cuthbertson
Founder & Clinical Lead
Sea Change Therapies grew out of my own experience of what therapy can make possible. I came to counselling through my own life’s challenges, and therapy gave me a space to be seen, understood, and supported in ways that changed the direction of my life. That experience eventually led me to train as a counsellor myself.
I qualified with a Postgraduate Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling from Abertay University, and I hold BACP Senior Accreditation as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist — a recognition of my long-standing commitment to ethical practice, ongoing development, and demonstrated excellence. I’m also a qualified clinical supervisor and EMDR practitioner.
But more than credentials, I understand what it’s like to sit in the therapy chair as a client — uncertain, vulnerable, hoping someone will truly “get me”. That experience shapes everything about how I work and how Sea Change has been built.
My practice focuses on neurodiversity, trauma, and LGBTQ+ identities. I understand these experiences professionally and personally — through my own neurodivergence and the lives of those I love. I know what it means to navigate systems that weren’t designed for difference, and how important it is to be met with compassion rather than judgement.
At Sea Change, my role is to hold the clinical direction of the service: supporting our therapists, ensuring ethical practice, and helping create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. I’m committed to building a service that is accessible, ethical, and rooted in community — a place where therapy is something people can reach without fear, shame, or financial barriers.
This is the heart of Sea Change Therapies: a safe, collaborative, human space where people can explore what matters and move toward meaningful change.
